Draft — not legal advice

This is a first draft written to accurately describe how Revisr actually works. It has not been reviewed by a lawyer, and shouldn’t be relied on as binding until one has reviewed it.

These Terms govern your use of Revisr (revisr.study), a web app that turns your course material into an interactive study tool tailored to a specific exam. By creating an account or using Revisr, you agree to these Terms.

Who can use Revisr

You must be at least 16 years old to create a Revisr account.

If you’re under 18, you’ll need a parent or guardian’s permission to purchase credits.

Your account

You sign in with your Google account. You’re responsible for keeping access to that account secure — Revisr doesn’t have its own separate password to protect.

Your content and upload rights

You upload your own notes, slides, professor handouts, and other course material so Revisr can generate a study tool from it. You keep ownership of what you upload.

By uploading material, you confirm you have the right to upload it — either because it’s your own work, or because your use of it (studying from your own class’s slides and handouts, for your own personal study) is permitted. Don’t upload material you know you don’t have the right to use, and don’t share, publish, or redistribute a generated study tool built from someone else’s copyrighted material beyond your own personal studying.

You grant Revisr the right to process what you upload — sending it to our AI provider to generate your study tool, and storing the result in your library — solely to provide the service to you. We don’t claim ownership of your material or your generated tools, and we don’t use your uploaded content to train any AI model.

Copyright infringement claims (DMCA)

Revisr has designated an agent to receive notifications of claimed copyright infringement. See our DMCA page for the designated agent’s contact information and notice requirements.

AI-generated content

The flashcards, quizzes, and other study material Revisr generates are produced by an AI model based on the material you provide. AI-generated content can be incomplete, out of date, or simply wrong — treat it as a study aid built from your own material, not a verified or authoritative source. Don’t rely on it as your only source of truth for an exam; check anything important against your actual course material.

Credits and payment

Revisr uses prepaid credits. You buy credits up front through Stripe, and each generation spends one credit. Credits are non-transferable — they belong to your account and can’t be sold, gifted, or moved to another account.

If a generation fails on our end (the AI provider errors out, or we can’t produce usable output), the credit it would have spent is automatically refunded to your account — this already happens today, no request needed.

Refunds: unused credits are refundable within 14 days of purchase — email legal@getrevisr.com to request one. Credits already spent on a successful generation are not refundable. We reserve the right to deny refund requests that look abusive (e.g. repeated buy-spend-refund cycles).

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Upload material you don’t have the right to use, or content that’s illegal, harassing, or infringes someone else’s rights.
  • Try to circumvent credit limits, rate limits, or abuse the generation system (e.g. scripted mass-generation).
  • Resell, sublicense, or provide access to your account or generated tools as a commercial service to others.
  • Attempt to access another user’s account, data, or study tools without authorization.
  • Use Revisr to build a competing product by scraping or systematically extracting its output.

Account termination

You can stop using Revisr and request account deletion at any time (see the Privacy Policy for how). We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, misuse the service, engage in fraud (including payment fraud or chargeback abuse), or if we’re required to by law.

If your account is terminated for a Terms violation, any remaining credit balance is forfeited.

Disclaimers and limitation of liability

Revisr is provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind. We don’t guarantee the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that generated content will be accurate or fit for any particular exam.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Revisr’s total liability arising out of or relating to your use of the service won’t exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Nebraska, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of Revisr will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Nebraska, and you consent to that jurisdiction.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as Revisr changes. If we make a material change, we’ll update the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use Revisr after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
